Insight 360 v.2.3.2 Release

Turning Technologies is happy to announce the release of Insight 360 v2.3.2 for both PC and Mac, available for download on the update server.  The latest release includes support for ResponseCard NXT clickers and is integrated with Acuity UnWired™ for quick and easy download of rosters and assessments.  Release also supports the tablet reconnect confirmation feature during self-paced tests.

Highlights for the Insight 360 v2.3.2 release include:

·         Added support for Turning Technologies ResponseCard receivers (RRRF-02, RRRF-03 and RRRF-04) and ResponseCard NXT

·         Added an integration module for CTB’s Acuity UnWired™

·         Added tablet reconnect confirmation for self-paced tests

·         Added the EULA to the Web Access join page

·         Added ability for participants using Web Access to see their submitted answers next to the “Submit” button. Additionally, the “Submit” button no longer changes to “Sent.”

·         Added summary rows to the Class Multiple Standard Analysis report

·         Added “You did not submit an answer” to the feedback summary for students using Web Access service to take an SMA test

ExamView Learning Series 10 Release

We are pleased to announce the public release of ExamView Learning Series v10.  The new release offers updated standards alignments for 15,646 unique, high-quality assessment questions organized by English language arts, reading, math, science and social studies. Learning Series works with ExamView Assessment Suite to produce formative assessments. The Learning Series state products are aligned to state standards and available for these 40 states:

Learning Series Samplers for both Windows and Mac can be found on the downloads page.  Samplers provide a small cross-section sampling of content from all subjects/grades and are available for each of the state products, the national Common Core State Standards content, the Next Generation Science Standards content and the Topic-Aligned product.

RF HID Receiver End of Life Notification

Turning Technologies is discontinuing sales of the RF HID Receiver (RRRF-02).  The RF HID Receiver will continue to be supported until further notice, but future sales will cease.
 
Turning Technologies feels that the company’s newest line of RF receivers offer customers an extensive portfolio of hardware solutions.  Resources required to develop and maintain the RF HID Receiver can be better allocated to enhancing existing and new products that more effectively fulfill market needs.

Wave End of Life Notification

Turning Technologies is discontinuing development and support of its Wave application.  Effective fall 2013 semester, no new pilots will be initiated.  Existing pilots will continue until the pre-determined pilot date has expired.  No further resources will be allocated to future software design in order to bring the product to market.
 
Turning Technologies feels that the company’s current software line offers customers an extensive portfolio of assessment solutions.  Resources required to develop and support Wave can be better allocated to enhance existing and new products that more effectively fulfill market needs.

TurningPoint 5.3.1 for PC and Mac Release

Turning Technologies is happy to announce the release of TurningPoint 5.3.1 for both PC and Mac, available for download now at www.turningtechnologies.com/downloads.  The latest release is intended as a patch to address several issues including fixes for use with Internet Explorer 11 and OS X 10.9.
 
Highlights for the TurningPoint 5.3.1 PC release include:
  • Resolved Internet Explorer 11 issue that prevented users from accessing the content and session editors
  • Adjusted the size of the Canvas and D2L LMS login window 
  • Fixed a color issue with Response Grids; grids now correctly change color with multiple responses
  • Addressed issue involving the usage of multiple RF-02 receivers in the same presentation, possibly resulting in extraneous Device IDs in the session
Highlights for the TurningPoint 5.3.1 Mac release include:
  • Resolved issues occurring when clicking the TurningPoint dock icon or closing PowerPoint to return to dashboard in OS X 10.9
  • Resolved issue where TurningPoint would unexpectedly quit when launching PowerPoint slideshow on a TurningPoint slide in OS X 10.9
  • Resolved issue that would cause TurningPoint to intermittently quit when refreshing a TurningPoint presentation in OS X 10.9

Turning Technologies is happy to announce the release of Insight 360 v2.4 for both PC and Mac, available for download on the update server.  The latest release adds the new combine classes feature for eduphoria! SchoolObjects:aware customers and support for Mac OS X 10.9.  If you are running Mac OS X 10.9, please update your software to v2.4 to ensure compatibility.

vPad v1.7 Release

Turning Technologies is happy to announce the release of vPad v1.7 apps for iPhone, iPad, Android phones and Android tablets.  New versions contain a new user interface and localizations for Vietnamese and Traditional Chinese.  vPad v1.7 apps will be compatible with Flow regular question types including True/False, Multiple Choice, Multiple Answers, Short text and Numeric in both Teacher-Led mode and Self-Paced mode.  vPad apps are available to download from the Apple iTunes and Google Play Store.

Response End of Sales Notification

Flow 2.0 is available on the eInstruction.eu/flowsoftware website.  Pending approval, accompanying vPad apps will also be available to download from the Apple App Store? and the Google Play™ Store.  A vPad browser-based version is available at www.vpad-web.com.

ResponseWare 2.0 Update - 7/19

Turning Technologies will release an update to ResponseWare, our mobile response solution available for browsers and apps. New ResponseWare 2.0 offers significant enhancements to the mobile response application. 
 
In order to accommodate the update, please note that our ResponseWare servers will be down for a period of up to 48 hours starting at 12 AM EST on Saturday, July 19th. During that period of time, ResponseWare sessions will be unable to be run. 
 
Presenters using TurningPoint will not be able to connect to ResponseWare in order to collect responses via mobile devices during the designated outage period. Participants using mobile apps or browser-based version rwpoll.com will not be able to log into sessions and respond. However, standard clickers and accompanying receivers may still be used and will not be affected for response collection. 
 
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause during the outage period. ResponseWare servers will be fully operational after the updates have been made with the most advanced and user-friendly version of our application to date.
 
Please watch for further e-mail notification regarding the launch of ResponseWare 2.0 and steps to change your password in order to complete the update.

ResponseWare 2.0 Update - RemotePoll Users

Turning Technologies has released an update to ResponseWare, our mobile response solution available for browsers and as an app. ResponseWare 2.0 offers significant enhancements to the mobile response application for both presenters and participants.  When using ResponseWare with TurningPoint 5, functionality and current settings will remain the same.
 
In order to accommodate the new features driven by customer feedback, the latest version of ResponseWare will no longer support RemotePoll.  Instead, RemotePoll must be run through direct IP.  Instructions for establishing a direct IP connection are below.
 
Setting Up a Direct IP Connection:
  1. Open TurningPoint 5.
  2. Click on Preferences in the bottom right of the TurningPoint Dashboard OR from the TurningPoint toolbar in PowerPoint Polling.
  3. Click Connections.
  4. Scroll to RemotePoll in the right navigation pane.
  5. Click the “Enable RemotePoll Support" checkbox.
  6. Enter the network port number in the RemotePoll Port field. The default port is 1025.
  7. Click Done.

TurningPoint Cloud Release

We are pleased to announce the release of TurningPoint Cloud for the Higher Education market.
 
TurningPoint Cloud shifts student device registration to a cloud-based interface tied to a Turning Account. Simple, easy-to-use accounts will be available for both instructors and students to leverage secure, cloud-based management of courses, rosters and assessment data. Secure login and file encryption ensures that data is safeguarded while providing one central location for data management and assessment. 
 
Turning Accounts provide a unique identifier for each user and can be tied to all software accounts and response devices.  Turning Accounts are free for instructors and includes the ability to poll with ResponseWare 2.0.  A Turning Account one year license is issued with new clicker bundle purchases for higher education students.  ResponseWare 2.0 license (one year, presentation mode only for synchronous, in-class polling) is also included with a Turning Account license, offering significant mobile polling enhancements. Higher education students can purchase bundles, account licenses and clickers directly on our online student store or through campus bookstores.  Students that have already purchased clickers can purchase a separate Turning Account license to participate in TurningPoint Cloud classrooms.
 
TurningPoint Cloud will prompt users to sign in to a Turning Account upon launch.  Turning Accounts require username and password verification, ensuring protection of electronic records including participant and session data. Once an instructor has created a Turning Account and logged in via the web once (to initialize passwords), internet is no longer required for future sign ins to run software.  Once signed in, TurningPoint Cloud offers the same, three polling environments and familiar dashboard introduced in TurningPoint 5.  New features have been added to TurningPoint Cloud while maintaining the core functionality of TurningPoint 5.

ResponseWare 2.0 Release

We are pleased to announce the release of ResponseWare 2.0.
 
New release ResponseWare 2.0 offers significant enhancements to the mobile response application.  ResponseWare 2.0 accounts are now tied to our new Turning Account system that offers one, central location to manage all response devices.  One login will access both ResponseWare and Turning Accounts.
 
iPhone®, iPad®, Android™ phone or tablet users will only require an update to the current app.  
 
Current licenses will transfer over to the new version of ResponseWare seamlessly.  Users will be required to make a password change upon launch of the new release.  Individual e-mails with instructions on how to change passwords and a customized link were sent to current registered users on Monday, July 21st.
 
New Release Features:
  • Enhanced user interface available through new apps 
  • Increased security properly safeguards student data 
  • Decreased bandwidth improves response transmissions 
  • Support for pictures and HTML in questions and answers with TurningPoint Cloud
  • Back channeling capabilities for increased communications with TurningPoint Cloud

Insight 360 v2.5 Release

We are pleased to announce the release of Insight 360 v2.5 for both PC and Mac. New, enhanced features have been added.  Current customers using v2.3.2 or higher will need to update to the latest version to ensure full functionality of software and gain access to new features.  Users are encouraged to update to v2.5 prior to August 15th.
 
Trial versions of the software are also available on the eInstruction.com downloads page.
 
New features include:
  • Improved Standards management, including new features:
    • New MyStandards Tab to select standards for tagging and test creation
    • Ability to select standards from any standards set with easier navigation
    • Standards description pop-ups with text wrapping for CueTags and Answer Key items
  • Answer Key Import/Export as files for transportation from computer to computer
  • Addition of previous Response Grid Report with ability to save as a scheme for export
  • NEW Startup Content includes 1,500 items, 200 pre-built assessments and PDFs
